A Commitment ceremony is a celebration of the bond of love between two people of the same sex. Gay marriages have not yet been recognised by law, but to the gay couples concerned their commitment to each other is the same as any heterosexual ceremony.

A loving union between two people whether it be of the same sex or not, needs to be acknowledged and respected and a commitment ceremony is binding in the eyes of these two people of love between two people of the same sex.
